Analysis
Ethereum ETFs compared: fees, issuers and staking (October 2026)
US spot ether ETFs all hold ether. Among the funds checked, sponsor fees run from 0.15% a year (Grayscale's Mini Trust) to 2.5% (Grayscale's ETHE).[1][2] BlackRock's ETHA is the largest at about $8.69 billion. Staking, offered by Grayscale, 21Shares and BlackRock's separate ETHB, is the main feature that sets the funds apart.[3][4][5]
This is a buyer’s-guide-style comparison of US spot ether ETFs. We did not buy, hold or test any of these funds. Every figure comes from a fund’s SEC filings, its issuer page or a cited news report, with the date shown. Fees and sizes change, so check the latest prospectus before acting. This page is not financial advice and does not recommend any fund.

“Not stated in sources checked” means the filing or page we read did not say. It does not mean the fund cannot stake.
Fees
Most of the funds charge between 0.15% and 0.25% a year.[1][11][10][3] Grayscale’s ETHE, which began as an older trust and uplisted on July 23, 2024, charges 2.5%.[14][2] 21Shares is waiving TETH’s whole 0.21% fee until October 2027.[13] BlackRock waived ETHB’s fee to 0.12% on the first $2.5 billion for its first year.[6]
The funds hold the same asset, so fees are the clearest cost difference. On a $10,000 holding, a 0.15% fee is about $15 a year, 0.25% is about $25, and 2.5% is about $250. Waivers are temporary. Compare the fee that applies after any waiver ends.
Staking
Grayscale’s ETHE and Mini Trust began staking on October 6, 2025. The sponsor, custodian and staking provider together take 6% of gross staking rewards.[4][15] BlackRock’s ETHB, listed March 12, 2026, stakes through Coinbase. It had 86.9% of its ether staked at the end of June 2026 and charges a 0.25% sponsor fee plus a share of rewards.[5][16][7][6] Staked ether can be lost and is locked for a variable period. Grayscale keeps some ether unstaked to meet redemptions.[17][18]
A staking fund’s return depends on its staking rate and the share of rewards it keeps, as well as its sponsor fee. Holding back unstaked ether for liquidity lowers the effective yield. Comparing staking funds on their sponsor fee alone can mislead. Reward-sharing terms vary and can change, so read each prospectus.
Size and issuer
BlackRock’s ETHA is the largest ether ETF, with about $8.69 billion in net assets on October 9, 2026.[3] BlackRock said its iShares funds took about 95% of flows into digital asset ETPs in 2025.[19] Smaller funds hold far less: Bitwise’s ETHW about $270 million, Invesco Galaxy’s QETH about $15.6 million.[9][12] In the week of September 21-25, 2026, ETHA and FETH took most of the inflows.[20] None of these funds is registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940.[21]
Larger funds usually have more trading volume. That can mean tighter bid-ask spreads, though we did not measure spreads for this guide. Very small funds may face a higher risk of closing, which would force holders to sell. Size is not a measure of quality, and all the funds carry the same exposure to ether’s price.

Fees decide it
The funds hold the same asset, so the sponsor fee is the most reliable difference; a 0.15%-0.25% fund costs a fraction of ETHE's 2.5%.[1][2][3][11]
