The 2026 Singapore Grand Prix follows 16 Grands Prix earlier in the season.[6] It is also the first Singapore weekend with a Sprint, and that Sprint is the last of the year.[7] The weekend runs from 9 to 11 October at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.[1] For the season picture, see the F1 2026 season tracker.

    Race status: pending

As of 11 October 2026, the Grand Prix had not yet been run. The 62-lap race starts at 20:00 Singapore time: 13:00 BST, 08:00 ET and 17:30 IST.[4][5] We will add the result once Formula 1 publishes it, and we will not report finishing positions before then.

    Friday: practice and Sprint Qualifying

Sprint weekends have only one practice hour. George Russell was fastest in it, ahead of Leclerc and Lando Norris.[8] Mercedes ran two different car specifications. Kimi Antonelli kept the upgrade introduced at Sepang, and Russell went back to the older package.[9] Verstappen took Sprint pole with a 1m 31.156s, ahead of Russell and Leclerc.[10]

Saturday: a wet Sprint and Verstappen’s pole

A downpour before the Sprint delayed the start by about half an hour, and every driver started on intermediate tyres.[11] Russell passed Verstappen at the start but crashed at the final corner of the first lap.[12] Verstappen won from Hamilton, Leclerc, Antonelli and Liam Lawson.[2] Late in the race, McLaren’s Norris and Oscar Piastri collided at Turn 5. Norris finished eighth, Piastri did not finish, and the stewards gave no penalty.[13]

In qualifying, Verstappen took his first Singapore pole with a 1:31.373. Leclerc was 0.054s behind and Hamilton third, with Antonelli fourth and Norris fifth.[3] Grande Prêmio reported that it was Verstappen’s 50th career pole.[14] Cadillac’s Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas qualified 20th and 21st.[15]

The grid and what to watch

Russell qualified sixth but starts last. Mercedes fitted extra power-unit components, and each one carried a 10-place penalty, 40 places in total.[16][17] Russell said he hoped to reach the points.[18] Hamilton said Ferrari’s best chance against Verstappen was to work as a team with both cars.[19] Antonelli said he hoped to fight for a podium.[20]

Going into the race, Antonelli leads Russell by 89 points.[21] The title fight analysis explains why Singapore matters. Broadcasters by country are listed in our guide to watching F1 and cricket.
