Story status
The 2026 NFL season kicked off on 9 September and runs 18 weeks to 10 January 2027.[7] This tracker records dated standings, results, injuries and trades, plus attributed forecasts. It was last updated on 11 October 2026, when Week 5’s Sunday and Monday games had not yet been played. Those results are pending and will be added after the games.
Standings as of 11 October 2026
All records below are from NFL.com before Week 5’s Sunday games. The Cowboys (now 2-3) and Buccaneers (1-4) had already played their Week 5 game on Thursday night.[8][9]
- Unbeaten (4-0): Kansas City Chiefs, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers.[1]
- 3-1: Jaguars, Bills, Browns, Ravens and Raiders in the AFC; Giants, Bears and Seahawks in the NFC.[8]
- Winless (0-4): Houston Texans, Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins, Tennessee Titans.[2]
The Jaguars had allowed only 53 points in four games, and ESPN ranked them second in scoring defense.[10] ESPN noted that only the 1992 Chargers have made the playoffs after an 0-4 start. Two of the winless teams, Houston and Tennessee, meet in Week 5.[11]
Key results so far
The season opened with a Super Bowl LX rematch. Seattle beat New England 13-10, intercepting Drake Maye three times in the fourth quarter.[4] A day later the 49ers beat the Rams 27-7 in Melbourne, the first regular-season NFL game in Australia, in front of 100,021 fans.[12] Chicago’s 59-37 win at Carolina was the highest-scoring season opener in NFL history.[13]
The record international slate continued in Rio de Janeiro, where the Ravens beat the Cowboys 34-31 on a 56-yard field goal at the end of a seven-second drive.[14] In London, the Colts beat the Commanders 30-13.[15] The 2026 schedule has nine international games, the most in any season.[16]
Week 4 reshaped the AFC East and the NFC. The Patriots beat the previously unbeaten Bills 29-26 in Buffalo.[17] The Rams came from 10 points down in the fourth quarter to win 24-20 in Philadelphia.[18] Kansas City (30-27 at Las Vegas), San Francisco (24-14 over Denver) and Minnesota (15-10 over Miami) all reached 4-0.[19][20][21] Atlanta beat New Orleans 45-24 on Monday night, with Bijan Robinson rushing for 145 yards.[22] Week 5 opened with Tampa Bay’s 24-16 win at Dallas, its first of the season.[9]
